On to Maine
On Thursday the 8th, we left Massachusetts. We were parked some 45 miles south of Boston. The thought of driving through the city during rush hour was not pleasant (they use the breakdown lanes for extra traffic!), nor was driving a whole bunch of extra miles to go around the city. So.. Solution #3 was to go before rush hour!
The alarm went off at 4 am-ugh. We were ready to by 430am so we turned on the windshield wipers (yes-it was raining again) and took off. Hopefully our former neighbors were not too unhappy with the noise. We were rewarded for our efforts and had very little traffic. Some 90 miles later we rolled into the New Hampshire Welcome Center. We ate a little breakfast and went back to bed for a few hours.
When we awoke the rain was over--yeah! Off we went again and in 2 blinks of an eye, 17 miles and one toll booth later we crossed into Maine. Paid another toll, and drove on to our campground. No rain, no humidity, only 75 degrees and lots of sunshine. We cant wait to start exploring Maine and finding some lobster!
